It was pretty exciting to be able to race on the National XCO Track that will be used to host SA XCO Cup 4, 14 May. The wet conditions tested the riders but the track held up pretty good making it interesting for the spectators to watch!
It was great to see James Reid rock up at the provincial race and line up with our local speedsters! The XCO track is relatively short but the 170m elevation with really testing gradients made the riders work hard. Reid had an easy win averaging really fast 15 min laps. Second placed rider was Jason Reed with Liam Venter as Junior doing really well to clock 3rd fastest laps on the day.
It’s great to see our ladies becoming more and more competitive with Robin Emslie putting in the fastest laps of the day for ladies. Both are riding in the youth category.
We had a really exciting race in the junior category with a fight among the top three from start to finish! In the end the first three were only separated by one minute and thirty seconds. Ceajay Bosman took 1st with Gerrit Rautenbach 2nd and Bradley Harrington 3rd.
NIPPERS AND SPROGS
The top three riders in the Sprogs category were: 1st Marcell Swartz; 2nd Teo Bosazza; 3rd Victor Olckers.
The top three riders in the Nippers category were: Alessandro Fanicchi; 2nd Usisipho Mnqeta; 3rd Azizipho Mnqeta,
